I got the idea for composition of this piece, while reading picture books and telling bedtime stories to let my child sleep.
It should be the same story as the night before, but she asks me “Mom, what is this?” ( ― I don’t know!) or suddenly tells me what happened in kindergarten today (― It has nothing to do with the story!)... In this way, the story is never exactly the same. But I enjoy it, of course…

先日、最新作テナーサックスソロのための « Tiny Tales for L » が BabelSocres より出版されました。
タイトルの邦訳は『Lのための物語』。
初演時にFacebookに投稿したのですが、この曲、こどもを寝かしつける時に絵本を読んだり、お話を聞かせたりしていた時にアイデアを得ました。
例えば、もう何度も読んでいるお気に入りの本。何回読んだって同じストーリー、同じ結末になるはずが、
「ねぇおかーさん、なんで◯◯なの？」
「ねぇおかーさん、きょうようちえんでね…」
などと、日によってツッコミが入ったり、脱線したり。読むたびに発見があり、読むたびにちょっとだけ違うストーリーに…これは「主題と変奏曲」？
5分半の小品ですが、割と内容は濃いです。以前、恥を忍んで書きかけの楽譜を公開したら予想以上に面白がってもらえたので、今回もこちら

ちなみに娘に少し音源を聴かせたら「こわい。。」と言いながら遠ざかっていきました。うーん、スラップタンギングの破裂音が怖かったかな？ホラー系とは程遠い、どちらかといえばポップな感じ、と作曲者は思っています。
