The title comes from “Ajedrez” , the poem written by Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986, Argentina). Keiichiro Hirano is a Japanese author born in 1975. He published his first novel « Nisshoku (L'Eclipse) » and won the Akutagawa Prize, Japanese most prestigious literary award for new writers, as one of the youngest winners ever.
